The USS Arizona sank with with 1,500,000 gallons of bunker oil. Though much burned off in the two days that the remains were on fire, an estimated 500,000 gallons are still left and the oil leaks at a rate of ½ to 2 ¼ gallons per day. At the current rate, the Arizona will continue to leak oil for the next 600 to 2,000 years.
